Joanna Yeates: Crimewatch recreates last hours of murdered architect - Belfast Telegraph

Wednesday, 19 January 2011

The final steps of Joanna Yeates have been reconstructed for television in a bid to catch her killer.

The reconstruction, a month after Miss Yeates was last seen alive, tracks the 25-year-old leaving the Ram pub in Bristol at 8pm before stopping at a Waitrose, Tesco and Bargain Booze, then heading home to her flat in the Clifton area of the city.

Miss Yeates' mother Theresa had offered to play her daughter, but an actress was used instead.

Detectives investigating the murder have helped with the filming for the BBC's Crimewatch programme to be broadcast at 9pm on Wednesday, January 26. It is hoped the film will jog someone's memory of seeing Miss Yeates as she made her way home on December 17.

During the filming of the reconstruction, the actress playing Miss Yeates entered the Tesco Express on Regent Street in Clifton village.

The BBC Crimewatch team spent an hour-and-a-half filming at the Tesco Express before moving to another location to film earlier scenes from Miss Yeates' evening.
