KPMG offering to pay university fees of trainees - Mirror.co.uk

A TOP accountancy firm is offering to pay the university tuition fees of teenagers who sign up to a new training scheme.

KPMG will launch its new school-leavers' programme – which also promises free accommodation – this autumn.

The lucky 75 students will get £20,000-a-year while studying, rising to £45,000 in the final year.

At the end of their studies, they will be guaranteed a job at KPMG.

The students will spend part of their time at Dur- ham University and the rest at work for KPMG.

KPMG's Oliver Tant said it hoped to attract talented youngsters worried about racking up debts. "We want to ensure fair access to the profession by ensuring the greatest number of young people possible go to university," he said.

The scheme has received the support of Universities Minister David Willetts.
