Sony delays return of PlayStation Network

Sony announced it will push back the restoration of its PlayStation Network to conduct additional testing.
Last weekend, the company revealed some PSN services would be back online this week. However, several factors including the breach of Sony Online Entertainment prompted them to delay the "phased restoration."
"Our utmost priorities are the security of the network and ensuring your data is safe," says Sony spokesperson Patrick Seybold in a statement on the official PlayStation blog. "We won't restore the services until we can test the system's strength in these respects."
Seybold did not indicate how much longer PSN users would have to wait before online services are restored.
Among the features expected to return once PSN is back: online gameplay for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable titles, account management and password reset, PlayStation Home and friends list and chat functionality.
PSN and music service Qriocity have been down since April 20, when Sony shut down both networks following a massive data breach exposing personal information on 77 million registered accounts.
On Monday, Sony learned SOE, which runs games such as DC Universe Online, had also been attacked, affecting an additional 24 million accounts.
