Will-Kate drove in wine-powered converted Aston Martin - Times of India

Everything about the royal wedding ought to be grand, including the wine-powered converted Aston Martin in which Prince William took his new wife for a public spin around Buckingham Palace .

The Seychelles Blue DB6 MKII Volante is one of only 38 built and runs on ethanol made from surplus British wine.

The six-cylinder engine gets about 10 miles per gallon, enough to fill four and a half Chardonnay bottles, reports the Fox News.

The wheeled beauty belongs to Prince Charles and was bought to him by Queen Elizabeth II on his 21st birthday in 1969.

William kept up appearances by driving Kate in the low-slung around the palace immediately after their wedding on April 29.
