London - A British woman has been beheaded in an apparently random attack in a supermarket on the Spanish island of Tenerife, news reports said on Saturday.
The victim, 62, was attacked late on Friday as she was shopping in the resort town of Los Cristianos on the south of the island, reports by the Press Association and other media said.
Witnesses said a man used a knife he picked up in the supermarket to stab and beheaded the woman before carrying the head out of the building.
Spanish police were reported as saying a homeless Bulgarian man had been arrested on suspicion of murder. - Sapa-dpa
