FEARLESS Tom Phillips saved his dad's life by driving a tractor at a bull.
Ten-year-old Tom watched in terror as the 2,000lb beast tossed dad Andrew in the air.
Farmer Andrew, 46, and Tom were tending cattle when the Limousin bull - hired from a stud farm - charged without warning.
It struck Andrew, who landed unconscious. The huge animal then began to attack him with its hooves. Tom climbed into the cab of a nearby tractor for safety - and started the engine.
He had never driven the Massey Ferguson before but managed to steer it towards the bull, taking great care not to crush his father under the wheels.
He nudged the bull away and ran home to mum Amanda, shouting: "Dad's dead! Dad's dead!"
First-aider Amanda, 39, failed to find a pulse and dialled 999.
An RAF rescue helicopter flew Andrew from the family's 100-acre farm near Abergavenny, South Wales, to hospital.
He suffered ten broken ribs and severe internal injuries, but is back home recovering now.
Tom said: "I was a bit worried about driving the tractor but I just did what I had to do."
Amanda added: "It was a dreadful thing for a boy of his age to go through. He was sure the bull had killed his dad and he's had nightmares since. But he can be immensely proud of himself - he's my little hero."
The bull has since been removed from the farm.
