THE wife of a Russian oligarch yesterday won an estimated 200million divorce deal.
UK-based Boris Berezovsky, 64, split from Galina, 51, in the mid-1990s but the couple did not divorce until last year.
Yesterday they reached a settlement at London's High Court with reports suggesting Galina won between 30 to 40 per cent of his 550million fortune.
While not disclosing the exact figure, Mrs Justice Eleanor King hinted at the amount, saying: "It does not matter whether awards are thousands of pounds or hundreds of millions of pounds.
"If a husband and wife can reach agreement they can both live with, it bodes better for their future welfare."
And she told the couple: "My congratulations to all concerned."
Berezovsky, who has survived assassination attempts and false charges of fraud by the Russian authorities, was one of his country's first oligarchs.
He picked up Sibneft, an oil firm, when President Boris Yeltsin sold off State assets.
Berezovsky was granted asylum in the UK in 2003 and lives in the 10million 172-acre Wentworth Park estate in Surrey he bought from DJ Chris Evans.
He shares it with Yelena Gorbunova, 43, his girlfriend of 15 years and their two children.
Berezovsky also owns a home in Cap d'Antibes and a 60million villa in Cap Ferrat, both on the French Riviera.
The tycoon married Galina in 1991. She blamed his "unreasonable behaviour" for their split.
Galina now lives with their two teenage children in Kensington, West London.
She describes herself as a "housewife".
