Lodsys sues Rovio over Angry Birds - Inquirer

ANGRY BIRD ARMY LEADER Rovio is being sued for allegedly infringing patents, according to a report at the BBC.

Patent licensing firm, and what a lovely business to be in that is, Lodsys is suing Rovio for infringing its patents, reports the BBC.

At issue are versions of the Angry Birds game that appear on IOS and Android devices. Angry Birds is also on Windows Phones and Chrome, but we can't say for now whether they are involved too.

Lodsys has quite a nice business going on and already has its lawyers looking at lofty firms including Apple, so Angry Birds, which no one had heard of a couple of years ago, is in good company.

Rovio seems short on information too, by the BBC's account at least. "As soon as we receive more information we will take appropriate action," a spokesperson said.

Lodsys apparently has some other firms in its sights too, and has added Electronic Arts, Take-Two Interactive and Atari to its list of potential patent violators.

Nice 'work' if you can get it. µ
