William and Kate during their Canada tour
Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoyed their first weekend back home after their royal tour with a cinema trip.
After proving a big hit on their visit to Canada and the USA, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent Saturday night at the movies with an outing to see Bridesmaids.
The girls gross-out comedy written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo has been a summer box office hit - but cinema-goers in Llandudno got more than they bargained for when they spotted the newly-wed royals.
Student Sam Jones tweeted: "My friend from Uni has just seen Prince William and Kate Middleton in my local cinema. (Llandudno Junction) #omg #willandkate."
And the cinema later confirmed the visit. Cineworld wrote on its Twitter account: "Prince William & Kate Middy saw Bridesmaids at Cineworld Llandudno this W'end. Wonder what they made of Kristen Wiigs 'one eyed' impression?"
Asked by a follower whether the royals were treated to a private screening, the cinema chain replied: "We're told the royal couple sat with everyone else after discussing whether to see Transformers or Bridesmaids, Kate won I guess."
They joked: "With Prince William & Kate Middy now loyal royal Cineworld Customers we're replacing the popcorn with caviare and knighting all Unlimiteds."
A glittering red carpet BAFTA dinner was one of the final engagements of William and Kate's tour as it drew to a close in Los Angeles.

The Duchess dazzled in a dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the designer behind her wedding gown. And the couple mixed with Hollywood royalty as they chatted with stars including Barbra Streisand, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez, Quentin Tarantino, Nicole Kidman and David Beckham.
After their first joint tour, a 10 day trip which travelled from Ottawa to Los Angeles, William is back at work as a search and rescue helicopter pilot at RAF Valley, while Kate is settling back into life as a housewife on Anglesey.
While they are planning to take a lower profile for the rest of the year following the excitement of April's royal wedding and their international debut, William and Kate have a trip to Balmoral to look forward to as they join the Queen and Prince Philip on their summer holiday.
