Veiled women held as France enforces ban - Financial Times

France became the first European country to ban the wearing of full-face veils in public on Monday, but the difficulty of enforcing the new law became immediately apparent following protests in Paris.

Two women wearing the niqab and several supporters were arrested after a demonstration against the French ban on wearing full-face veils in public, which came into force on Monday.
