GLENN Mulcaire, the private investigator jailed in 2007 for intercepting celebrities' voicemails while working for News of the World , must reveal who told him to hack phones, a judge has ruled.
He has been ordered to name who at the Murdoch paper told him to intercept voicemail messages for model Elle Macpherson and other public figures. The names must be revealed by Friday.
Mulcaire and News Corp's UK newspaper unit are defendants in dozens of civil lawsuits filed by individuals who claim their voicemails were accessed.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a detective suspected of leaking information about the investigation. They also said a 14th person, reportedly a former journalist at News of the World, was arrested in connection with the original hacking probe.
