The family of a 16-year-old whose death is being treated as suspicious has appealed for help in gathering details about his final days.
A body found at a derelict property on Lewis in the Western Isles has been confirmed as that of Liam Aitchison.
Liam, who was originally from Uist, was last seen in Stornoway's Anderson Road area at about 21:00 on 22 November.
The teenager's body was found in the Steinish area of Lewis earlier this week during a search for him.
In a statement, his family said: "Today has been one of the most heartbreaking days ever, where we had to formally identify Liam.
"We would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and offers of support.
"We'd also like to thank the police and our family liaison officers.
"Most importantly we beg you if you have any information and have not brought it forward as yet we urge you please go to the police.
"Without this help we can't get peace."
Police have appealed to anyone with information about Liam's movements for the week prior to his disappearance to contact them.
Area Commander Gordon MacLeod said: "Now that this is being treated as a suspicious death, it is important to get as much information as we can."
