EE gears up to launch UK's first 4G network tomorrow - Telegraph.co.uk

Prices for EE services will begin at £36 per month, although this will include just 500MB of data. Rival operator Three said its customers, who often subscribe because they are heavy data users, already consume more than 2GB of data per month. Packages of 8GB per month will cost £56 on EE.

Mark Newman, of Informa Telecoms and Media, said that EE would have to tread a fine line with its new service. He said: "EE will have to be careful about over-promising on 4G capabilities particularly given that the network will only cover 30% of the population by the end of this year. It will need to strike a balance between extolling the virtues of 4G in terms of speed and latency while, at the same time, continuing to invest in, and market its 3G network capability."

Mr Swantee, said: "This is a significant milestone for the United Kingdom, and for the people and businesses of our country who will now be able to enjoy the huge advantages of superfast 4G technology for the first time."
