Partygoer one of 11 people killed in icy British weather - Ninemsn

Police said Kent woman Bernadette Lee, 25, may have slipped in the snow on her way home after a night out.

Eleven people have been killed in the freezing conditions, with snow blanketing everywhere between south-east England and Scotland, Daily Mail reported.

A man walking his dog reportedly found Ms Lee's body in her sister's front garden on Sunday morning, hours after she was seen at a nearby nightclub.

She was wearing a dress with no coat and had taken her shoes off.

"She was a beautiful girl and very intelligent," her father Roger Lee said.

"Her only bad side was that she liked to have too much to drink and that is what killed her."

He said Ms Lee had had a lot to drink that night and hadn't realised her older sister was staying with a friend.

Police said Ms Lee's death wasn't being treated as suspicious and appeared to be a "tragic accident".

"We think she either collapsed because she was too drunk or she slipped on the snow and couldn't get up and lost consciousness because it was so cold or she had a medical episode," a police spokesman told The Sun.

More than 1000 Heathrow flights have been cancelled since the icy weather set in, Britain's rail network has ground to a halt and many roads have been closed because of crashes or ice.
