Radiohead Warns: 'We'll Sue David Cameron' - Sky News

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has warned David Cameron he will take legal action if the Prime Minister uses any of his songs to promote his re-election campaign.

Speaking to Dazed and Confused magazine the 44-year-old singer said if any of his songs were used by Mr Cameron he would "sue the living ****" out of him.

Yorke added: "I can't say I love the idea of a banker liking our music, or David Cameron.

Thom Yorke of British band Radiohead performs as a special surprise performer on The Park stage at the Glastonbury festival near Pilton, Somerset on June 25, 2010.
Yorke doesn't want the Tories to use the band's songs

"I can't believe he'd like (Radiohead album) King of Limbs much, but I also equally think, 'who cares?' As long as he doesn't use it for his election campaigns, I don't care."

The Conservatives previously got into trouble for misappropriating the music of pop group Keane, who were reportedly "horrified" when their hit Everybody's Changing was used by the Conservative Party to launch its election manifesto in 2010.

The Conservatives later said in a statement: "It's a great song and David's a great fan."

The year before, the British National Party was ordered to remove a Manic Street Preachers' song it used on a video uploaded to YouTube after legal threats from the band's record label.

In 1997, the Labour Party used D:Ream's track Things Can Only Get Better as the keynote anthem for its campaign.

But lead singer Peter Cunnah reportedly said: "I didn't mind it being used at the time because my band was nearly finished and I thought it would make us part of history."

The Radiohead singer was being interviewed by Dazed and Confused to promote Atoms for Peace, an experimental rock and electronic group formed by Yorke in 2009.

Their album Amok will be released on February 25.
