Wintry Conditions Return To UK - Sky News

Looking ahead to the weekend, it'll turn even colder, with sleet and snow in places.

Looking ahead to the weekend, it'll turn even colder, with sleet and snow in places.

Tonight, rain over western Britain will tend to fizzle out, but eastern Scotland and eastern England will see showers.

Ireland and the zone from central Scotland to south-east England will stay mainly dry, with patches of frost and fog.

Tomorrow, eastern Scotland and northern and eastern England will be cold and cloudy, with sporadic outbreaks of rain and hill snow.

Elsewhere, it'll be drier, brighter and less cold, but fog will be slow to clear central England and Northern Ireland.

South-west Britain and Ireland will however see a few showers, mainly in the afternoon, but more prolonged rain will reach Kerry and Cork by evening.

Saturday looks colder still, with rain in the south bringing a risk of sleet and snow to east Wales and the south Midlands, particularly the hills.

Eastern Scotland and north-east England will have some snow showers as well, which will persist on Sunday.

Ice will also be a concern over the weekend.
