New Delhi: We have already seen the much-rumoured iPad 5 in a raft of leaked images, but now a new bunch of leaked images have appeared online.

Sonny Dickson, who attracted attention in August after releasing the exact and detailed pictures of the new iPhones, has now posted a set of high-resolution images of the purported iPad 5 (in space grey colour), which is likely to be launched on October 22.

New leaked images (see below) hint that the fifth-gen iPad may have a slimmer bezel and an iPad Mini-like design. The next-gen iPad is likely to be 2 millimetres shorter and 15 millimetres narrower than its predecessor. It could also be lighter and about 2 millimetres thinner.

New versions of the iPad, which will go up against Amazon.com's latest Kindle Fire tablets and other gadgets made by Samsung Electronics, are expected to feature lighter, thinner designs and more powerful processors.

Supply chain sources told Reuters last week that Apple may run into a shortage of so-called "retina" displays for the iPad mini, a smaller version of the tablet that helped popularize the product in 2010. That could in turn limit supply of the gadget during the crucial season.
