Austrian wins World Cup Super-G: Hannes Reichelt of Austria won a World Cup super-giant slalom in Hinterstoder, Austria, for his fifth career victory and American Bode Miller finished third.
Miller said he will not compete in the slalom at the world championships this month in Germany because of equipment troubles.

Giant Oak prevails: Giant Oak, a 5-year-old trained by Chris Block, won the Grade I Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
Giant Oak, ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan, beat Morning Line by 2 lengths; he paid $16.80 to win in the $500,000 race after running 1-1/8 miles in 1:48.23.
In another Grade I events, 4-year-old gelding Teaks North ($52.60 to win) took the $300,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap and Zazu ($10) captured the $250,000 Las Virgenes for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita in Arcadia, Calif.
