Media magnate Rupert Murdoch will launch a new paper to replace the now defunct News of the World.
The latest addition to the Murdoch empire, The Sun on Sunday, will be available daily and is launching this week.
"From today, your favourite paper will be available seven days a week, making every day a Sun day," said an announcement in the Sun newspaper today.
The release of the new paper is a quicker than expected replacement for News of the World, Britain's best-selling Sunday tabloid, closing just seven months ago after a phone hacking scandal that has raised questions about journalist practices throughout the world.
Murdoch vowed to launch a Sunday edition of his tabloid in a bid to win over angry staff mounting one of the biggest challenges to his more than 40 years as a proprietor in Britain.
Calls for Murdoch to give up his business empire were made by the public and his own workers after several senior staff involved with the Sun tabloid were arrested during a corruption probe.
