Stargazing | 'Dancing' odds; another 'Bridget Jones'? - Kansas City Star

Royal wedding goes online

The royal dynamic duo, Prince William and Kate Middleton, has launched The Royal Wedding Web Site — officialroyalwedding 2011.org — where they will reveal all those details we're dying to find out, including the details about her dress.

But that, alas, won't come until the day of the wedding, when the ceremony could be streamed on the site, according to a statement from St. James's Palace this week.

In other wedding news, turns out that Elton John and partner David Furnish have been invited to the April 29 festivities after all. "We do have an invitation," Elton told Canada's CTV. "I've been trying to be discreet."

He said he thinks Kate "is Diana in personality. She is very discreet; she is a very beautiful girl."

Kendra a shoo-in?

This makes us so giddy. The oddsmakers at Bodog.com give our favorite gal, Kendra Wilkinson, the best chances of winning the next season of "Dancing With the Stars."

They put her odds of taking home the mirror-ball trophy at 3:1. Other favorites: Ralph "Karate Kid" Macchio (7:2) and Disney star Chelsea Kane (4:1).

"It couldn't have come at a more perfect time in my life," Hugh Hefner's bosomy former girlfriend said in interviews. "I'm almost back to my pre-baby body, so I'm excited for all the costumes!"

Our bet: This season scores a lot of new male viewers when it debuts March 21.

Galliano's one defender

"Sex and the City" costumer Patricia Field seemsthe lone voice in the wilderness, coming to the defense of disgraced Dior designer John Galliano. He was fired this week for allegedly going on an anti-Semitic rant against a couple in Paris.

Women's Wear Daily reported that Patricia sent an e-mail blast to 500 friends, blogs and media folks titled "In Praise of John Galliano."

"John lives in theater," she said. "It's theater. It's farce. But people in fashion don't recognize the farce in it. All of a sudden, they don't know him. But it's OK when it's Mel Brooks' 'The Producers' singing 'Springtime for Hitler.'?"

Bridget Jones lite?

Will she, or won't she?

Renee Zellweger is reportedly negotiating to star in a third Bridget Jones movie — now that she doesn't have to gain any weight (again) to play the pudgy, round-faced Bridget.

Producers allegedly had to promise pin-thin Renee that she didn't have to gain one ounce to reprise the role. Co-stars Hugh Grant and newly minted Oscar winner Colin Firth are reportedly also on board.

Lonely house

Melissa Gilbert and her actor husband, Bruce Boxleitner, asked for privacy when they announced this week that they are separating after 16 years of marriage.

They have one son, Michael, 15, named after Michael Landon, Melissa's co-star and father figure on "Little House on the Prairie."

RobPat: A fine whine

It's so hard to have a relationship when you're one of the most famous people on the planet. Whine. Whine.

Sorry, but that's what Robert Pattinson's interview in the April issue of Vanity Fair sounds like to us. He talks about the stress of dating "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart.

"It's just very traumatic," he complains. "When this is over, the media will lose interest. There'll be nothing to say."

Well, if they do break up, maybe he can hang out with Charlie Sheen and his porn-star "goddesses," since RobPat is a fan of Charlie's "little escapades."

"I like crazy people who don't give a #!$*," he says.

When Lisa Gutierrez isn't mourning the death of Melissa Gilbert's marriage by wearing her old prairie skirts, she's Stargazing among published reports of celebrity news.
