TROUBLED TV star Gail Porter has spoken for the first time of her horrific experiences in a psychiatric unit.
Gail, 40, was sectioned in April and was feeling severely depressed and suicidal after a breakdown but said the stay did nothing to help her.
She claimed she was given drugs to keep "calm" but only saw a doctor three times in three weeks, for 10 minutes.
The Scot, who has a daughter, Honey, eight, with ex-husband Dan Hipgrave, said her fellow patients were very ill and one tried to speak to God through a cistern.
She added: "There was no treatment. We were locked in and basically forgotten.
"It was like I was in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I honestly believed that I would never leave."
Gail, who rose to fame on children's TV, is "getting better" after three weeks of rehabilitation in Thailand.
But she said: "It is ridiculous I had to go there to get better treatment than here."
