London riots: dry weather forecasts fuel looting fears - Telegraph.co.uk

Only Liverpool, where several areas were attacked by scores of marauding yobs, is likely to get wet. But only in the early hours.

Forecaster Claire Austin said: ''Most places will probably be dry in the first half of the night across the UK.

''During the second half of the night rain will enter Northern Ireland and Scotland and northern England including Liverpool between 3am and 6am.

''Other than that it will be dry and there is no chance of rain in London.''

All Metropolitan Police leave has been cancelled and reinforcements called in from other forces taking the figure up by 10,000 from last night's number on patrol.
