FORMER US President Bill Clinton weighs into the indy debate at a glittering bash last night as he urged campaigners not to "tear the place apart" in the run-up to the 2014 poll.
In front of an audience of around 1,400 including First Minister Alex Salmond he called for the pro and anti-Union camps to show respect.
Mr Clinton, 66, told the Scottish Business Awards: "You have to run up the pluses and minuses and do it in a way that doesn't tear the place apart while you're trying to reach an agreement."
Mr Salmond attended the Edinburgh do in eye-catching tartan trews, while fellow guests included underwear tycoon Michelle Mone.
