The IPhone 5 is expected to be relased on October 21, the weekend that iPod celebrates its 10th birhday, according to new rumours. The date is based on what appears to be a leaked note from a branch of Best Buy in the US. Other rumours are based on leaks from Asia, where the phone is assembled. The iPhone has traditionally been annonuced in June, at Apple's WWDC event in San Francisco. This is the first time that the announcement has been pushed back to the autumn.

The weekly bin round is back - The Sun
COUNCILS are getting 250million to bring back weekly bin rounds.
The new drive announced by the Government yesterday will help eight million fed-up households whose bins are now only emptied fortnightly.
Hard-up authorities will be invited to tap into the fund set aside to find new ways of recycling but ONLY if they restore old-fashioned weekly collections for at least five years.
Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles last night hailed the emptying of bins every week as a "basic right".
He was jubilant after a battle with Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman on the issue.
Earlier this year she ditched what had been a Tory election pledge.
Mr Pickles proudly declared: "Weekly rubbish collections are the most visible of all frontline services."
Doretta Cocks, founder of the Campaign for Weekly Waste, said: "Our members will be absolutely delighted.
"For too long hardworking families up and down the country have had to put up with fortnightly collections."
My privacy was invaded: Johansson on nude photo leak - NDTV.com
The 26-year-old actress said that when one's personal privacy is violated, it feels immoral, reported Daily Mail online.
"I think the question is kind of redundant, I think. Who doesn't want to protect their own privacy? Just because you're an actor or make films or whatever doesn't mean you're not entitled to your own personal privacy. If that is sieged in some way, it feels unjust. It feels wrong," she said.
Since the scandal first emerged, Johansson said that she took the naked photographs of herself, which were leaked online after someone hacked into her phone.
She reportedly called the FBI in to investigate how the private photographs were hacked from her mobile phone and threatened legal action against anyone who publishes them. Authorities are now said to be 'honing in' on the criminal gang, with the identity of one of the ringleaders known to the FBI.
"I think there are certain instances where you give a lot of yourself and finally you have to kind of put your foot down and say, 'Oh wait, I'm taking it back'," she said.
Johansson became the latest victim of the phone-hacking ring. Other stars reportedly targeted include actresses Jessica Alba, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, as well as singer Christina Aguilera.
Speed limit to be raised to 80mph - Mirror.co.uk
JOURNEY times look set to tumble as the motorway speed limit rises to 80mph.
Transport Secretary Philip Hammond is expected to announce the plan at the Conservative Party conference this weekend, in a victory over Cabinet sceptics Chris Huhne and Andrew Lansley.
Health Secretary Mr Lansley fears the change would lead to a rise in road deaths and Energy Secretary Mr Huhne worries the environment will suffer as drivers burn more fuel at faster speeds.
The policy is part of Tory plans to win the "Top Gear vote" and Mr Hammond said yesterday: "The speed limit is nearly 50 years old, and out of date thanks to advances in motoring technology.
"Increasing the motorway limit to 80mph would generate economic benefits of hundreds of millions of pounds through shorter journey times."
The new limit could be introduced by 2013, but road safety campaign Brake said: "The Government should be looking to reduce deaths on our roads, not making proposals likely to increase them."
And the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety says an 80mph limit would increase motorway casualties by up to 10%.
But ministers argue that improved car safety has led to a 75% fall in fatal accidents since 1965 when the 70mph limit was set.
Speed limits are lower here than in many other EU countries, with France on 81mph. Germany has no restriction on some roads.
Official figures show that more than half the cars on British motorways already break the speed limit and a fifth exceed 80mph, although police tend to only book drivers going at least 85mph.
