BBC Cardiff singer of the world, St David's Hall, Cardiff, review - Telegraph.co.uk

The final of this year's BBC Cardiff Singer of the World offered an interestingly varied line-up: Meeta Raval, an English lyric soprano of Indian parentage and a former head chorister of Wells Cathedral School; Hye-Jung Lee, a Korean coloratura trained in Germany and the US; Olesya Petrova, a very Russian-sounding Russian mezzo; Andrei Bondarenko, a Ukrainian baritone already snapped up by Salzburg and Glyndebourne; and Valentina Nafornita, a 24-year-old from Moldova, still a student in Bucharest and, on paper, the rank outsider.
