This inspiring TV3 documentary series promises to be a fascinating and, at times, shocking programme that covers all aspects of life on the farm from birth through to slaughter and sowing through to harvest. Farmers captures not just the traditional ebb and flow of life on the farm, but also the political nitty gritty and harsh economic realities that face the featured farmers. With engaging characters and real life stories this touching series reveals the very human side of farming - the stresses and strains of dealing with the weather, the economics and the dangers of dealing with animals. The series follows twenty six farmers for an entire agricultural year covering all four seasons and every conceivable type of farming, from large scale conventional farming to free range and organic including beef, dairy, sheep, pigs, grain, fruit, vegetables, poultry and even fish. Episode 1 covers Dairy Farmers and features Tom Browne from Youghal, Mitchell Hayes from Blarney,and Alan & Valerie Kingston from Drimoleague.
