Simon Cowell has left his spot as a judge for the British "X Factor," ITV confirms. Instead he'll strictly work on the U.S. version, which is set to debut in September. ITV said Cowell would continue as "an enormous presence backstage" on the U.K. version and he will ensure that the show "continues to evolve." Meanwhile, Cowell said that Mariah Carey, who is set to give birth to twin babies, will have a role on the show's American version.
