Russell Brand boasted about his sex life to the Dalai Lama while onstage at an event held in Manchester last night (June 16)
The comedian and actor was introducing the Buddhist leader at the event at Manchester's Evening News Arena, when he bragged about his sex life, reports The Sun.
Brand told the 11,000-strong crowd: "Some of you might be surprised to see me here. I've gone from being Shagger of the Year three times to introducing the Dalai Lama. It has certainly been an interesting journey. The Dalai Lama told me 'We are all just people' and I've taken that on board as I was very nervous meeting him."
The Nobel Peace Prize winner laughed off Brand's jokes and praised him for his "openness". He said: "Some people told me before to listen to this strange person's explanations. I was surprised but I think your openness is wonderful."
Brand is currently starring in the film adaptation of the hit musical Rock Of Ages, alongside Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin. While promoting the film on The Graham Norton Show, according to tabloid reports, the talk show host offended the actor by bringing up the topic of his ex-wife Katy Perry.
But it appears his encounter with the Dalai Lama has eased any tension between the two, as Brand told the Buddhist monk: "Someone was rude to me. I was angry. I can forgive the human being but not the action. Your speech has been really good for me."
