The Loch Ness monster first became famous in 1933, and has been reportedly seen dozens of times since.
There have also been several photos, though the most famous published in 1934, which showed a head and long neck, turned out to be a hoax.
The photograph was exposed in 1994, 60 years after it was taken, when Christian Spurling confessed to having fitted a toy submarine with a false head and giving the photograph to Dr Robert Kenneth Wilson to pass off as his own.
