By the time the former Princess of Wales was 29, on July 1, 1990, she was one of the most photographed people in the world.

The paparazzi, who many believe were eventually to blame for her death, were a constant presence as she continued raising her two young boys while at the same time maintaining her ever building charity work.

Also that year she received a one month driving ban and £150 fine due to speeding while there was growing speculation that the Princess and the Princes of Wales were living separate lives and even in different apartments.

About two and half years later, Sir John Major, the former Prime Minister announced to the House of Commons that the pair had agreed to an "amicable" separation.
