Psy's Gangnam Style gallops to No.1 - Sky News Australia

South Korean rapper Psy has overtaken Guy Sebastian's Battle Scars to take out the No.1 spot on the ARIA singles chart with his hit song, Gangnam Style.

The catchy tune by South Korean pop star Psy has knocked Guy Sebastian's Battle Scars from the top spot to No.2. Psy's chart-topping success in Australia now equals that enjoyed in his native South Korea, Canada, New Zealand, Denmark and the UK.

Skinny Love by Birdy remains at No.3, while the biggest mover for the week has been Irish rock band The Script, with Hall of Fame featuring will.i.am shooting from ninth to fifth position, behind Flo Rida's I Cry at No.4.

Break-up song We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift is at No.6. Good Time by Owl City featuring Carly Rae Jepsen has dropped one position to No.7, while Grammy-winning RB singer Ne-Yo's Let Me Love You has climbed three places to sit at No.8.

Boom Boom by Australian group Justice Crew, who have reportedly signed a US deal with industry powerbroker Pitbull, is No.9, while Rita Ora's R.I.P featuring Tinie Tempah rounds out the top 10.

Pink's new album The Truth About Love has enjoyed a second consecutive week at No.1 on the ARIA albums chart.

Coming in behind Pink on debut are two of the biggest bands in the world: Mumford Sons sits at No.2 with their new album Babel, which has already gone Gold, while Green Day's Uno! is No.3.

Also entering the top 10 this week is Kanye West Presents G.O.O.D. Music Cruel Summer, a special compilation of artists on Kanye's Good Music label. The album has jumped 13 places to No.7.

On the Australian front, The Rubens' self-titled album has fallen six places to No.9, while the soundtrack to Aussie film The Sapphires is No.10.

In the Country Albums chart, husband and wife Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson remain at No.1 with their record Wreck Ruin.

Dwight Yoakam's 3 Pears has entered the chart at No.2 ahead of Keith Urban's The Story So Far.
