World darts final live on New Year's Day - SuperSport

Sport doesn't get much more entertaining than this - the final of the PDC World Championship darts tournament - and it is live on SuperSport on New Year's Day.

The 15-time world champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor faces up to Dutchman Michael van Gerwen, who almost had back-to-back nine-dart finishes in his semifinal win over James Wade on Sunday.

Catch the spectacle - and it really is something to behold as the fans get into the spirit like at no other event - live on SS5 and HD4 from 10pm on Tuesday.

World No 1 Taylor survived a Raymond van Barneveld fightback to earn a 6-4 victory in the second semifinal. Van Barneveld (twice) and Adrian Lewis the only players to have thrown perfect nine-dart legs in the PDC World Championship.

But Van Gerwen went so close to creating history when he missed out on becoming the first man to hit successive nine-darters.

The No 7 seed had only just finished celebrating his first nine-darter when he threw a further eight perfect arrows.

However, unlike the previous game, Van Gerwen just fell inside the double 12.

Another one in the final? Only one way to find out...
