Roaming empire set to fall as Three drops surcharges in seven countries - The Times (subscription)

Britain's smallest mobile operator has told its customers they can roam if they want to after abolishing unpopular surcharges for calls, text messages and data in seven countries.

That could mean substantially lower bills for customers of the mobile network who regularly travel between Britain and Ireland to other countries where Three operates a network.

Destinations that will now be roaming free on Three include Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Austria and Hong Kong, which could cut out "bill shock" for people going on holiday.
