Astronomy photographers of the year revealed - ITN

The winners of Astronomy Photographer of the Year have been revealed, with Sam Cornwell picking up a prize for his photo of the transit of Venus.

Sam was modest about his achievement, saying: "I think I got lucky because the clouds cleared at the right time."

"I got up at 2am to take this one. The transit didn't happen until about 4.20, It was wet, it was dark, it was rainy - I really didn't know what I was doing because it was the first time I'd done anything like that," he added.
