DOCTOR Who star Matt Smith found a cunning way to cover his recent injuries yesterday.

The science fiction star was spotted sporting a cowboy hat which covered his bruised bonce after an accident at a Doctor Who wrap party at the weekend.

The 28-year-old had to be taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff after he fell over in his flat during in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The star had to have three stitches after the accident but was able to return to bash which was being held to celebrate the end of shooting on the second part of the latest series of the BBC1 show.

The fun-loving star, who is notorious for being clumsy, looked none the worse for wear as he took a stroll with model girlfriend Daisy Lowe, 22, in Primrose Hill, North London yesterday afternoon.

And he even looked to have taken a leaf out of his time travelling alter-ego's book donning headwear akin to that worn by the Time Lord in the opening episode of Doctor Who's sixth series.

Doctor Who returns next Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC1.
