Imogen Thomas
The Premiership footballer at the centre of the Imogen Thomas gagging order is suing Twitter after a number of users purported to reveal the name of the player on the micro-blogging site.
The married footy star, who is alleged to have had an affair with the former Big Brother beauty, has issued legal proceedings against US based company Twitter and "persons unknown".
Earlier this month an anonymous Twitter user identified the footballer, who is referred to as CTB in the court documents, along with a handful of other celebrities, as those who have allegedly obtained injunctions.
This week Imogen Thomas revealed she had been "tempted" to reveal the name of the footballer.
The tearful 28-year-old says she is "hated" by the public and is so upset by the backlash that she has considered outing the star.
Her comments come 24 hours after she was accused of blackmailing the top footballer for £100,000 over their affair.
The allegation came as a High Court judge explained why he had extended the original injunction barring the Premier League star from being named.
