FRUIT THEMED GADGET SELLER Apple has started seeding IOS 5.1 to developers.
The new build is available for the Iphone 4S, Iphone 4, Iphone 3GS, Ipad 2, Ipad and third and fourth-generation Ipod touch devices. IOS 5.1 apparently is in the works to launch in the new year and will bring additions to Apple's Siri voice control. Siri's new features will include the ability to turn on and off WiFi and Bluetooth, take photos and shoot videos.
According to 9to5mac, Apple also has released the Xcode 4.3 beta to developers. This is a required version of Xcode for those wishing to develop and test their applications with IOS 5.1 devices.
Meanwhile, Apple has apparently leaked another new device, called the Ipad 2.4. This adds to previous references to the Ipad 3.1 and 3.2, which were thought to be the tablet devices poised for release in March 2012.
Recent rumours have hinted at an imminent launch of IOS 5.0.2 after battery issues with the operating system persisted after the IOS 5.0.1 upgrade.
However, despite our searching, IOS 5.0.2 has failed to materialise, indicating that we might have to wait for IOS 5.1 to solve battery problems once and for all. µ
