THE heartbroken girlfriend of an Army dog handler killed by the Taliban said last night she had lost her "soul-mate and best friend".
Leah Walters spoke of her devastation over the death of L/Cpl Liam Richard Tasker, 26, after he was shot dead in an insurgent ambush in Helmand on Tuesday.
She said: "LT never met anyone without touching their lives. I am the proudest girlfriend there could be."
His death brings the British toll in Afghanistan since 2001 to 358.

He leaves his mother Jane Duffy, father Ian Tasker, brother Ian and two sisters, Laura and Nicola.
The family, of Kirkcaldy, Fife, said: "He lit up rooms with his cheeky smile. He died a hero."
Colleague Lieut Col David Thorpe added: "He was that man you wanted around."
His dog Theo, a bomb sniffer, suffered a seizure and died returning to base.
