Afghan police storm Kabul hotel after Taliban siege - euronews

Afghan police say they have stormed a fashionable Kabul hotel and freed a number of hostages after an attack by Taliban gunmen.

The Taliban had used rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine guns to attack the Spozhmai Hotel late at night.

Police say they cleared one floor, liberating 18 civilians and killing two militants.

It is thought some of the guests may have been killed by the insurgents.

On Friday morning the police operation was still ongoing.
