COMEDY star Trevor Bannister - who played ladies' man Mr Lucas in Are You Being Served? - has died aged 76.
Trevor shot to fame in the 1970s department store sitcom as he chased after pretty sales assistant Miss Brahms, played by Wendy Richard.
His tragic death comes just two years after he gave a reading at co-star Wendy's funeral.
Trevor's brother John revealed he had suffered a heart attack while working on his allotment in Thames Ditton, Surrey. He said: "He was a good lad, we were all very fond of him."
After two years' National Service, Trevor studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
His lengthy TV career included stints in police dramas Z Cars and Dixon Of Dock Green, as well as The Avengers and more recently Last Of The Summer Wine.
He also performed regularly in theatre and panto. His agent David Daly said last night: "I have known and worked with Trevor Bannister as his agent for 24 years.
"He has been a wonderful friend as well as a very talented client and I shall miss him greatly."
The Wiltshire-born actor is survived by his second wife Pam and sons Simon, Timothy and Jeremy.
Trevor's death means just two of the original Are You Being Served? stars are still alive - Frank Thornton, 90, who played Captain Peacock and Nicholas Smith, 77, who played Mr Rumbold.
