Operation: Ed Miliband is said to be having his adenoids removed

It's been claimed that Labour leader Ed Miliband is having an operation on his nose to cure what's been referred as his 'bunged up sound'.

A story in today's Daily Mirror reports that the 41-year-old will have his adenoids removed during Parliament's summer break.

According to the article, it is hoped that the operation will improve his voice and help his chances of winning future elections.

The procedure usually takes a week to recover from and is expected to get rid of the very nasal aspect of his voice.

According to a party insider who spoke to the newspaper: 'Ed should have had it done before he stood for the job. It's a conversation that has been had.

'It's difficult to find a convenient time when you are leader of the Opposition, but the summer recess would be an obvious choice.'

Miliband has been criticised for his drawl on several occasions, there are even threads on politics forums about the very problem.

One user on the Digital Spy forums compared his voice to a character named Smell from British film This Is England, who sounds as though she has a blocked nose.

While another user, Mandark, commented: 'His voice really could be a disadvantage. As we all know if you talk a bit funny impressionists have a field day and people don't take you as seriously.'

His office was unavailable for comment.

Unnecessary vanity surgery on the NHS? Or is this staunch socialist going private? Either way it's no-win!

when there in there check to to see if there is any evidence of a brain.a complete bone head.

I thought he talks out of his backside

Sadly for Mr Adenoidal, there are no new brain or personality operations available

Or perhaps you should report correctly, as the BBC website has, that : 'the Labour leader suffers from sleep apnoea, which interrupts breathing during sleep, made worse by a deviated septum in his nose. He will have surgery to correct the septum at the end of July.'

Will he be having plastic surgery & dental work as well? K.P.
