Guide to Kate Middleton and Prince William's Royal Wedding on TV - Vancouver Sun

Wedding-day coverage: Airing from 4 to 10 a.m. ET, Global National's Dawna Friesen will anchor Wills & Kate: The Royal Wedding live from outside Buckingham Palace along with many of Global's international correspondents, as well as ET Canada host Cheryl Hickey.

• Not an early riser? Tune in for Global's special one-hour prime-time wedding recap Wills & Kate: Relive The Magic, which will also re-air at 9 p.m. ET.

Advance coverage highlights:

• Dawna Friesen also anchors Global National live from London throughout the wedding week, covering overall preparations and examining how Londoners and Canadian expats are preparing for the big day.

• Cheryl Hickey will host ET Canada live from London from April 25 to April 29. Coverage will include ET Canada's Rosey Edeh visiting the notable hot spots where William and Kate's love first blossomed. Cheryl and Rosey will discuss wedding trends and speak with numerous celebrities, including Kim Cattrall, Nia Vardalos, Kristin Booth and Elton John.

• The specialty channel, Slice, will air the documentary series Royal Wedding of a Lifetime (premieres Sunday, April 24 from 2-8 p.m. ET; encore presentations will air Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8-10 p.m. ET). This six-part series covers everything from William and Kate's courtship to a glimpse of what their royal future might look like as husband and wife. Note:Global will also air episodes 1-3 and 5-6 of the series at 3 p.m. daily throughout the week).

Wedding-day coverage: Citytv coverage starts at 5 a.m. ET (4 CT/ 3MT/ 2PT) on Breakfast Television. Broadcasting at a special time on Citytv in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg, BT Toronto co-host, Dina Pugliese and HELLO! Canada Editor-in-Chief Alison Eastwood will bring viewers all the festivities live from London.

• Citytv and HELLO! Canada . . . Your Invitation to The Royal Wedding (8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 CT, 9 MT). From the star-studded arrivals to Will and Kate's first kiss as a married couple, relive the key wedding moments in this Citytv prime-time special broadcast event.

• Biography Channel:Get to know the royal family, with special themed biographies Monday to Friday at 12 p.m. ET/PT throughout the week of April 25-29. Find out the stories behind Princess Diana, Princess Anne, Prince Harry, Prince Charles and future princess Kate Middleton.

• Breakfast Television will also offer a daily dose of wedding coverage throughout the week.

Network: CBC TV and CBC News Network

Wedding-day coverage: Starting bright and early at 2 a.m. ET, (four hours before the actual nuptials), Heather Hiscox hosts "street-level" Wedding Day Coverage. Joining her throughout the morning will be the CBC's royal commentator, Ciara Hunt. Correspondents Anne-Marie Mediwake, Ann MacMillan, and Susan Ormiston, who will also be filing regular reports.

Additional features:

• Viewers can stream CBC TV coverage online and read correspondent Andrea Lee-Greenberg's live updates from the streets of London, which will include photos, interviews, observations and interactive content.

• At 4 a.m. ET, Peter Mansbridge will start reporting from outside Westminster Abbey.

• At 6 a.m. ET, on CBC TV and CBC News Network, and streaming live on CBCNews.ca, iPhone and iPad, the ceremony begins. The news team will report on the ceremony, and the carriage ride through the streets to Buckingham Palace.

• Highlights of the ceremony will be broadcast at 7 and 11 p.m. ET, and again on April 30 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.

• The wedding will also be available to watch, on-demand, at CBCNews.ca.

Advance coverage highlights:

• Beginning Monday, April 25, and for the whole week, Hiscox reports live from London on CBC News Network. Stories throughout the week include a look at the massive security operation protecting William and Kate for their wedding; speaking to royal insiders; and catching up with Canadians who have made the trip over to be part of the big day.

Wedding-day coverage: Airing from 3 to 10 a.m. ET, Lloyd Robertson will be live from London, as well as Lisa LaFlamme, who will be at Buckingham Palace, along with the rest of the network's Royal Wedding broadcast team, including royal biographer Christopher Warwick and royal expert Victoria Arbiter for William and Kate: The Royal Wedding.

Additional features

• Following the wedding ceremony, Canada AM will recap the event for its western stations, hosted by Seamus O'Regan live from London. Canada AM will also broadcast live from Royal Wedding parties across Canada.

• From 10 to 11 a.m. ET, The Marilyn Denis Show Wedding Reception Special airs live with special guests Scott Thompson, former Royal Family adviser Bonnie Brownlee, and a performance by Matt Dusk. Fashion Television's Jeanne Becker will be live from London to give her take on the ceremony, and Kate's wedding dress.

• From 1 to 3 p.m. ET, Lisa LaFlamme will provide the latest information along with wedding highlights.

• Coverage continues with live reports from London throughout the day; Robertson and LaFlamme will wrap up the big day during CTV's national newscast at 11 p.m. ET.

• Royal Wedding coverage will also air on CP24 and CTV New Channel.

• E! will have its own take on the Royal Wedding throughout the day, beginning at 4 a.m. ET with live coverage of the wedding and ending with a special edition of Fashion Police at 10 p.m. ET.
