Lohan Sentenced to 120 Days, But Quickly Released
A judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 120 days in jail for violating her probation by taking a designer necklace. The judge said she believed the actress had intentionally swiped the necklace but she reduced the charges from felony grand theft to a misdemeanor. That was a big victory for Lohan because it reduced her potential sentence to one year in county jail rather than three years in state prison, notes the New York Post. Hearing on the theft charges are set for May 11. In addition to the 120 days, the judge also hit Lohan with 480 hours of community service, including 360 at a women's shelter, where "she might see how needy women live," the judge said. After spending five hours behind bars she was let out on $75,000 bail.
