On her way home: Megan Stammers set to be reunited with her family after ... - Mirror.co.uk

Schoolgirl Megan Stammers boards a plane in France this afternoon to be reunited with her relieved family.

Megan, 15, who was missing in France for eight days with her teacher 30-year-old Jeremy Forrest, climbed aboard the EasyJet flight in Bordeaux before it jetted to Gatwick airport.

Dressed in a black top and black jeans, she boarded the plane accompanied by a man and a woman.

After reportedly "eloping" with Forrest, Megan, from Eastbourne, East Sussex, was expected to be reunited this afternoon with mum Danielle Wilson, 37.

The boss of a hotel in Bordeaux where Megan and Forrest stayed for a night said the teacher had booked a double room under the name of Jack Grant.

The hotelier added: "She didn't look 15 years old, but rather 18 to 20 while he seemed a bit younger than 30.

On the run: Megan was missing for eight days before she was found

"What intrigued me was that he came in alone, booked a double room and when I asked him where she was he told me, 'She's waiting outside', which is not how things are done generally."

Megan and Forrest were discovered in Bordeaux, in south west France, on Friday. Forrest is being questioned by police in France on suspicion of child abduction. His lawyers say he has agreed to return to the UK as soon as possible.

It is reported that Forrest told officers his plan was to stay in France with Megan until she becomes 16 which is thought to be in June.

It has also emerged that Megan used her mum's passport to flee the UK nine days ago with Forrest. They travelled from Dover to Calais on a ferry then it is thought he drove them to Paris before they boarded a train to Bordeaux.
