(AGI) London - Thousands of people took to the streets of London to protest against the cuts in public spending announced by the British Conservative government, in what has been called the largest protest in the capital since the 2003 march against the war in Iraq. The event began around noon in the Victoria Embankment on the Thames, and reached Hyde Park, where they discussed, among other things, the general secretary of the TUC (Trade Union Confederation, the British Trade Union Congress), Brendan Barber, and the leader of the Labour Party, Ed Miliband.
