But it wasn't her bad business sense or dodgy decisions she was ashamed of.
The self-proclaimed "Blonde Assassin" is most upset because fans of the series have nicknamed her Gordon Ramsay due to her wrinkly forehead.
They have even told her she can pull more expressions than Lord Sugar's craggy-faced 68-year-old aide, Nick Hewer.
Now 26-year-old Katie, who was the sixth person to be fired from the BBC1 show, is planning to smooth out her wrinkles with Botox injections.
She said: "People keep saying I look like Gordon Ramsay. I didn't realise how many conversations my forehead was having with the world. It's made me want Botox.
"My lovely husband Mark's absolutely adamant I can't have it done though."
Katie was fired after Team Phoenix lost the gourmet street food task by just £20 and Lord Sugar blamed her decision to station their posh food van outside a Scottish football ground.
She admitted she was 100 per cent to blame for choosing the location and said: "I have stood by it. I was naïvely convinced we would sell all our units in an hour and have the rest of the day off. I did the market research and I was pushing to make 120 units, not 220, because that's what the other traders said we could expect to sell. I also wanted to do a dessert, which is a lot easier to sell if people aren't that hungry."
Earlier in the series, editorial and research director Katie confidently said: "I would call myself The Blonde Assassin.
"I let people underestimate me just so I can blow them out of the water."
Now, after facing the wrath of Lord Sugar, she has admitted: "I'd probably say I wasn't a successful Blonde Assassin, but I am still blonde. I think I should put to bed the blonde assassin claim now." There are still ten candidates in the running to be Lord Sugar's business partner and Katie said: "I'm gutted to be out. I think it could have gone another way, but I had such a good time."
Though it was her idea to pitch the stand outside the football ground where the punters shied away from the posh grub and posher prices Katie thinks Lord Sugar should have fired project manager Adam Corbally instead.
She said: "He didn't have a grasp of what the task was about and that's a basic mistake."
She added: "I've learned to have a bit more confidence in myself. I'm here now because of not speaking up enough in week one. My confidence took a knock and it was so hard for me to rebuild that."
Now she's out of the running for the £250,000 investment prize, Katie is tipping architect Gabrielle Omar to win. But she admitted she would be happy if her closest pals from the series won.
She said: "I'd really like Gabrielle to win. She's smart, kind and doesn't stab people in the back.
"I think people underestimate her because she's softly spoken but listen to her and she's always right.
"I was close to everyone but Jade Nash and Stephen Brady were probably the ones I got on with best."
Last night's show saw Team Phoenix lose to Team Sterling. But catty Katie said they won DESPITE team leader Jenna Whittingham.
She said: "For me, the weakest candidate is Jenna. She relied very heavily on being what she called a grafter but the simple fact is that we're all grafters on The Apprentice so you can't use that as a line.
"I don't think she has raw business ability when it comes to numbers, writing, presenting or new ideas.
"She might have won but it was close and she didn't really have a grasp of the costings."
Now Katie, who works for a Parliamentary publisher, is hoping to bump into Lord Sugar in Westminster.
She said: "I'd like to see him again. I work in politics so our paths may cross.
"It would be nice to meet him in my own environment. I've got nothing but admiration for him."
