UK fuel tanker drivers will vote next week on new pay and conditions, lifting the immediate threat of strike action.
There was panic at the petrol pumps last month, after the government advised drivers to make preparations for a possible stoppage.
Union leaders have warned that if there is a walkout, fuel supplies will start to run dry within 48 hours.
