Tributes to girl who died at house party - The Sun

HEARTBROKEN pals of a teenager who died after taking a yellow paste at a house party paid tribute to her yesterday.

Poppy Rodgers, 16, was rushed to hospital after taking the substance — thought to contain amphetamine — but doctors could not save her.

Mum Ann-Margaret, 39, and dad Mark, 44, who is a university researcher, were too devastated to talk yesterday.

But a friend said: "Poppy was a loving, happy, well-liked young girl.

"Her family still don't know much at the moment. They don't know if she got into the wrong crowd or what happened.

"She wasn't a tearaway, she was a lovely girl who was naïve. This is a lesson for people not to experiment with drugs."

Former headteacher Carl Sugden added beauty therapy student Poppy was a "well-regarded girl".

A man, 21, was also rushed to hospital after taking the paste in York but is recovering. Cops arrested and bailed a man, 23, and a woman, 26, over Friday's death and urged people to avoid the drug.
