LINDSAY Lohan has reportedly been banned from Los Angeles' famous Chateau Marmont after refusing to pay an almost $45,000 bill.

TMZ obtained a letter from Philip Pavel, general manager at the hotel where Blues Brother John Belushi died, in which he informs Lohan that she is no longer welcome due to the $US46,350.04 ($44,692.80) bill she left unpaid during her stay there in June and July.

In the letter she was told to remove her belongings from the hotel immediately.

An itemised bill shows Lohan spent $US3145.07 on minibar charges during her 47-day stay, as well as $US686 on cigarettes.

TMZ also reported that Lohan would not be prosecuted for the theft of more than $US100,000 in sunglasses and watches stolen from her friend Sam Magid's party on August 20.

Lohan took to Twitter to hit back at "lies" being told about her involvement in the theft.

''Whenever I'm doing great, people fabricate lies,'' she wrote. ''It's such a shame.''
