Man avoids being struck by speeding train after stumbling over level crossing - Scottish Daily Record

DRIVERS at a level crossing watched in horror as a man jumped the barrier and ran into the path of an oncoming 140mph train.

Mum-of-two Laura Robinson, who witnessed the terrifying incident,
said: "He looked at the train coming and stumbled across the tracks, by which time I yelled at the children not to look.

"I felt sick for ages afterwards, and I felt for the poor train driver."

British Transport Police were called to the incident in Gillingham, Kent, last Friday. A man aged 61 was detained under the Mental Health Act.
